Improving working lives
We’re dedicated to improving the working lives of our staff and have a range of policies in place to assist with improving the quality of working life and offer flexible working, wherever possible.
We’re committed to ensuring equal opportunities in employment and will not discriminate on any grounds. Information collated for monitoring purposes is confidential and will not be used for selection processes.
We’re positive about disabled people and as Two Ticks symbol users, we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the essential criteria for a vacancy and consider them on their abilities.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks
The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) have merged to become the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). CRB checks are now called DBS checks.
We’re required to undertake a DSB check on every candidate applying for a post which involves working with children or vulnerable adults. Dependent on the duties of the post, this disclosure will be at the standard or enhanced level.
We also operate a No Smoking Policy.
CCG has achieved the Bronze Better Health at Work Award
The North East Better Health at Work Award recognises the efforts of local employers in addressing health issues within the workplace. In 2016/17, NHS South Tees CCG took part and successfully achieved the Award.
Many organisations already promote healthy lifestyles and consider the health of their employees. This Award recognises the achievements of these organisations and helps them move forward in a structured and supported way.
There are 4 levels to the Award Bronze, Silver, Gold and Continuing Excellence, with appropriate criteria at each stage to build into an Award Portfolio. The CCG will now progress to Silver Award.
